Standard cabins on Grandeur continue in the tradition started with Legend of the Seas, comfortably large and well furnished. Here the cabin is set out to accommodate three adults. The upper births are stored in the ceiling, not folded along the walls as on other ships. The ceiling location opens up the room, providing a wider and neater appearance. The downside being that it is not accessible for afternoon napping when stored. The room provides plentiful storage space, indicating the ships were built with longer cruises in mind. Closet and drawer space are sufficient for cruises of at least 3 weeks, providing the occupants didn't bring along everything they own. All cabins are provided a small couch and table for entertaining or watching TV. The bathrooms remain small, in the tradition of the other ships in the fleet. Showers are fine so long as the soap is not dropped! If it is, you will learn ways of blind retrieval not previously explored. Stalls provide storage space for shampoos, conditioners, and soaps, so it won't be necessary to reach outside for these items. A clothesline for drying clothes is also considerately provided. Cabins may not be as large as those on some competitive lines, but they are better furnished than most, the space much more usable. Standard cabins have no refrigerators or hair dryers. A safe operated by a magnetic strip like that on credit cards is provided for security of personal effects. Robes are provided for guests previously having sailed 5 or more cruises with Royal Caribbean. Television programming, in addition to providing the customary satellite feeds, and videos, also provides a forward view from the bridge (a nice touch for those in inside cabins), and real-time readouts on ship location, bearing, speed, and weather conditions.
